Abdelkader Belliraj , 67, Belgian-Moroccan sentenced to life for terrorism in Morocco in 2010, has received a Belgian passport. He was released at the end of March from Oudaya prison (Marrakech) following a pardon from King Mohammed VI granted for the end of Ramadan.
On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, King Mohammed VI granted his pardon to 1,533 people, convicted by various courts in the kingdom, some of whom are in detention and others at liberty. The Belgo-Moroccan Abdelkader Belliraj, convicted of terrorism, who was serving a life sentence (reduced to 25 years) in the Loudaya prison in Marrakech, is among the beneficiaries.
The Belliraj case, named after the leader of the terrorist network sentenced to life imprisonment in Morocco , has taken a new judicial turn.
