At just 17 years old, Abdellah Ouazane is getting closer to Ajax’s first team. A decisive goalscorer against Burnley and capable of playing almost every midfield position, the young Moroccan is already being presented in Spain as a possible 2030 World Cup phenomenon.
Ouazane scored the winning goal for Ajax against Burnley (2-1), finishing at the far post from an action initiated by Don-Angelo Konadu. Starting with the number 10 shirt, he played in a midfield where all three players were under 20 years old.

"His performance was excellent," said Míchel Sánchez after the match. The Spanish coach believes the Moroccan can already help the first team, even though he must continue his progression.
According to Marca, Ouazane played 227 minutes during this preparation, more than most young players from the reserve team.

The attacking midfielder can play as a number 10, box-to-box, defensive midfielder or on the wing. A versatility he embraces: the essential thing, he says, is to get minutes and continue progressing without rushing things.
His transfer to Real Madrid had failed last year. Ouazane ultimately chose to stay in Amsterdam and signed with Ajax until June 2028.

A Moroccan international in youth categories, he will be 21 years old during the 2030 World Cup hosted notably in Morocco. Until then, his first objective will be to establish himself permanently with Ajax and get closer to the Lions of the Atlas.
