Christopher Ibayi leaves the Swiss champions for the Moroccan champions. Having scored 10 goals and provided four assists with FC Thoune, the 31-year-old striker has joined Maghreb de Fès.
His departure is not that of a squad player. Ibayi was directly involved in 14 goals during the title-winning season, making him Thoune’s second-most decisive player, level with Kastriot Imeri. Only Elmin Rastoder did better.

The performance is even more impressive given his club’s journey. Promoted at the start of the season, FC Thoune defied all predictions to become Swiss champions with 75 points. It was a first in the modern history of the Super League for a promoted team.
From the Swiss champions to the Moroccan champions
Having arrived at Thoune in January 2025 from AC Ajaccio, Ibayi scored ten goals and provided four assists during the title campaign.
But he will continue his career in Morocco. FC Thoune confirmed his immediate transfer to Maghreb de Fès, crowned Moroccan champions after 41 years of waiting. The transfer fee was not disclosed.

The choice is symbolic: Ibayi is therefore leaving one champion for another. MAS is above all acquiring a striker who has just been directly involved in 14 goals for the best club in Switzerland and who will now have to bring his experience to a team expected to defend its title in Morocco.
