Things are becoming clearer for the delivery by Morocco of the first batch of 24 "Apache AH-64 E" helicopters, destined for the Royal Moroccan Air Force, which it had ordered from the American manufacturer Boeing.

The fleet of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will grow. The national airline has ordered new aircraft from Boeing, the American aerospace and aviation manufacturer.

Royal Air Maroc plans to invest nearly $25 billion to strengthen its fleet and move from around 50 aircraft currently to 200 aircraft by 2030.

On August 3, 1975, a Boeing 707 of the Jordanian airline Alia and chartered by Royal Air Maroc, coming from the Bourget airport in Paris, crashed in the mountains in Morocco. The passengers on board, all Moroccans except four Europeans, lost their lives in this tragic accident, one of the worst recorded to date.

Morocco is considering acquiring two MPA (Maritime Patrol Aircraft) for the benefit of the Royal Navy. Several companies are vying to supply these vehicles which will be used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, search and rescue.

Grounded since March 2019, after two crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia, the two Boeing 737 Max aircraft of Royal Air Maroc could fly again. Pending the agreement of the European Union, the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States has already given the green light for the resumption of flights of these models from the aircraft manufacturer.

Boeing’s interruption of the production of its 737 MAX aircraft has put the CEO of Royal Air Maroc in a bind. The national airline was counting on its 4 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to "strengthen its fleet and competitiveness".
