E-Cigarette Battery Explosion in Hospital Injures Expectant Father
An electronic cigarette battery exploded from Farouk’s pocket a few minutes after the doctors asked him to leave the delivery room.

Farouk was with his wife in the delivery room. She was about to give birth. After an examination, the doctors recommended a cesarean delivery. This is how they asked the husband to leave the delivery room.
As he was taking the maternity elevator, Farouk’s pants exploded in his pocket. "It went boom. [...]. There was smoke up to the 5th floor," he recounts.
"I will never recover the normal motor skills of my leg as before. It’s a lifelong scar," he laments.
Farouk filed a complaint against the store that sold him the electronic cigarette for endangering the life of others.
