UN Envoy for Sahara Begins Regional Tour in Morocco
Staffan de Mistura, the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for the Sahara, began a new visit to the region on Saturday to deepen consultations with all the parties involved.

Speaking at a press briefing, UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric announced that the diplomat was to go to Rabat on Saturday to meet with Moroccan officials, adding that "he also intends to visit the Sahara during this trip."
During these various trips, De Mistura "looks forward to deepening the consultations he began in January with all the parties concerned to constructively advance the political process on the Sahara," the spokesman stressed.
For now, no information has been given about a possible meeting between the diplomat and the Algerian authorities.
