The Vigo court upheld an agreement setting the defendant’s sentence at two years in prison, while the prosecution had demanded four. This sentence was ultimately commuted to immediate expulsion from Spanish territory, accompanied by a ban on returning for a decade. Furthermore, the man loses parental authority for ten years and is forbidden all contact with his daughter, to whom he must pay 6,000 euros in compensation, according to radio station Cadena SER.

The facts date back to November 12, 2023. In the midst of separation proceedings, this father of Moroccan origin fled with the minor without the mother’s permission.
