Four Suspects Face Life Sentence in Fatal Shooting of Moroccan Man Near Bordeaux
Four of the six suspects arrested after the death of a 24-year-old Moroccan man in Castillon-la-Bataille near Bordeaux have been placed in pre-trial detention. Indicted in particular for "murder in an organized gang", they face life imprisonment.
The Bordeaux prosecutor’s office has indicted four suspects - including the alleged perpetrator of the fatal gunshot, fired with a "hunting rifle for big game" - aged 18, residing in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, in Gironde, La Force, in Dordogne, involved in the shooting death of a 24-year-old Moroccan man in Castillon-la-Bataille for "murder in an organized gang, criminal conspiracy, violence with a weapon and arson", reports France bleu Périgord. They have already been placed in pre-trial detention. They all face life imprisonment.
The events took place on the night of October 22 to 23. Around 2:30 a.m., Ayoub Fatah, "of Moroccan nationality", "succumbed to a gunshot wound" through the door "of an association premises" in Castillon-la-Bataille, the Bordeaux prosecutor’s office said. The origin of this murder is a personal dispute between young people from Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, reports France Bleu Gironde. In the aftermath, six individuals were arrested. Four of them admitted to participating in the murder.
