From the Plane to the TGV Without Passing Through Casablanca City Center
Morocco plans a new station at Mohammed V Airport, bringing together high-speed trains, regional trains and road transport. Travelers will thus be able to access the TGV network without first passing through a station located in Casablanca.
The project is included in the preparatory guidelines for the 2027 finance bill. The government plans to connect the Kingdom’s main airport directly to the high-speed railway line.

The new station is intended to bring together, within a single hub, the TGV, Casablanca’s future regional railway network and the various road transport services serving the airport.
Today, Mohammed V already has a conventional railway connection. However, passengers wishing to continue their journey by TGV must change trains at a Casablanca station.
The future connection is intended to simplify this journey. After arriving by plane, travelers will be able to access the high-speed network from the airport, without crossing the city to reach another station.
Tangier and Marrakech more easily accessible
The government specifically mentions Tangier and Marrakech among the major urban, economic and tourist centers that this connection should make more accessible from the airport platform.
The station should also facilitate travel to Casablanca and the other cities served by the future regional network. It will thus transform Mohammed V Airport into a true hub connecting air transport, high-speed rail and local trains.
For MREs and tourists, the main change will be tangible: fewer connections, less travel with luggage and simpler access to the rest of Morocco after landing.
The connection is presented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance as a project intended to strengthen the complementarity between rail and air transport.
