His boss expects him on Monday, but easyJet leaves him stranded in Marrakech for a week with his baby
Zakaria was due to return to work on Monday after two weeks of vacation in Morocco. His easyJet Marrakech–Basel-Mulhouse flight was canceled at the last minute. With his wife and their 18-month-old baby, he will ultimately be unable to return until a week later.
The family had already checked in their luggage and gone through security when the approximately 180 passengers received the cancellation message, Le Parisien reports. The flight was scheduled to take off on Saturday, August 15.

EasyJet transferred the travelers to a hotel, but for only one night. Zakaria was supposed to leave his room at noon on Sunday, even though the next flight he found is not scheduled until the following Saturday.
Diapers, milk and water to buy again
With an 18-month-old child, the wait has to be organized in an emergency. Zakaria says he traveled around Marrakech by Uber during the night to buy extra diapers, milk and water.
His employer is nevertheless expecting him in Belfort on Monday. And his new ticket will not even take him back to Basel-Mulhouse: he has to land in Paris, then travel on to Franche-Comté by train.

For Zakaria, the cancellation of a flight has thus turned into an extra week in Marrakech with his baby, while his job is already waiting for him in France.
