Liège Good Samaritans Use Facebook to Return Dozen Stolen Phones
In Liège, Yassine and Ilias launched a Facebook appeal to return a dozen stolen mobile phones to their unsuspecting owners.
An act of kindness. Yassine and Ilias, two cousins, discover a bag containing a dozen stolen mobile phones in the vicinity of the Médiacité shopping mall. "We heard a ringtone in a bush, we didn’t understand. We went to check and found a large bag. We came across stolen phones," they tell RTL info. After this discovery, they launch an appeal on Facebook to return the devices to their owners: "Feel free to contact us. I hope we’ll make some people happy."
Some victims like Florelle have already recovered their phones. "When I saw them arrive, I said to myself that people still have a good heart. It’s nice. I didn’t expect it, and I thank them," rejoices the one whose mobile phone was stolen during the August 15 festivities in Liège. A feeling shared by Yassine and Ilias. "There are happy people, with a big smile. I’m just doing this for the smile," shares Ilias. This Friday, the two cousins will go to the police to deposit the other phones.
