Moroccan athlete Majida Maayouf , residing in Salvatierra (Álava, Basque Country) for ten years, has just obtained Spanish nationality. Her naturalization request was approved this Tuesday in the Council of Ministers.
Since her arrival in Spain in 2011, Madjida Maayouf has been unsuccessfully trying to obtain Spanish nationality. The athlete of Moroccan origin won the national cross-country championship in Ortuella on January 29, but did not receive a trophy or medal because she does not have Spanish nationality.
