Magnitude 3.3 Earthquake Shakes Midelt Province in Morocco
A slight earthquake occurred on the evening of Friday, July 3 in the province of Midelt, reports the National Institute of Geophysics (ING)
The epicenter of the recorded shock is located in the commune of Zaouiat sidi hamza. It occurred at 11:03:32 PM (GMT+1) on Friday, according to the national seismic monitoring and alert network of the National Institute of Geophysics (ING) in the seismic alert bulletin.
The seismic shock has a magnitude of 3.3 degrees on the Richter scale, a depth of 2 km, a latitude of 32.498°N and a longitude of 4.694°W, according to the same source.
The populations remained calm even if they are haunted by the prospect of a new aftershock. The local authorities have not yet given the material and human toll of this earthquake.
