Marrakech Police Commissioner Gets 8 Years for $260,000 Embezzlement Scheme
The Marrakech Court of Appeal has handed down its judgment in the case of embezzlement and extortion involving a police commissioner and a bank employee.

According to the verdict, the police officer was sentenced to eight years in prison with a fine of 40,000 dirhams.
As for the bank branch manager, she was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of 5,000 dirhams.
In addition, the two accomplices must repay the embezzled sum of 2.64 million dirhams and jointly pay a civil indemnity of 260,000 dirhams.
