Marrakech Woman's Death After Street Harassment Now Investigated as Possible Murder
A few days ago, this tragic story broke out where a woman died in Marrakech after a sexual harassment incident in the street took a turn for the worse. New elements show that the case is more dramatic than it appeared. In fact, it would be a case of sexual harassment followed by murder, seemingly (so far) unintentional.
After repeatedly refusing when he tried to "flirt" with a 38-year-old woman on the street, a 26-year-old man is said to have slapped her and then pushed her, causing her to fall into the middle of the road when a truck was passing, according to her sister’s account.
Indeed, the latter states: "Ilham tried her best to ignore him but the perpetrator insisted on talking to her. A violent argument thus broke out between them and the culprit slapped her before pushing her. She was hit by a truck."
According to the sister, the young man intercepted her a few meters from her home before this harassment led to the woman’s death. The deceased was divorced and the mother of two young children, aged 8 and 13.
The man, for his part, is said to have tried to flee the police but was arrested a few hours after his misdeed.
