Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) are calling for radical reforms to guarantee a serious investment environment and encourage the injection of their capital into projects within the country.
In Morocco, the share of private investment from Moroccans living abroad remains low. Only 10% of MRE transfers are devoted to it. An incentive system is being put in place to better mobilize the investments of this community.

The flow of foreign direct investment in Morocco has fallen by 19.5%, or nearly 2.22 billion dirhams (MMDH) at the end of February 2020, compared to 2.75 MMDH a year earlier.
