The Bab Darna case, considered the largest real estate scam in Morocco, has seen a new development with the protest of victims in front of the Court of Appeal of Casablanca.
The Bab Darna case , one of the biggest real estate scandals in Morocco, reached its conclusion on Thursday with the sentencing of Mohamed El Ouardi, CEO of the real estate group, to 15 years in prison by the criminal chamber of the first instance court in charge of financial crimes at the Casablanca Court of Appeal. Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) were particularly affected by this case which affected more than 1,000 victims.
Faced with the many damages caused by the Bab Darna affair, which has proven to be the biggest real estate scandal Morocco has ever known, the government is trying to secure transactions.
