Moroccan Airports See 7.4 Million Passengers in First Half of 2022, Led by Casablanca Hub
During the first half of 2022, Moroccan airports recorded a total of 7,439,275 passengers on 70,680 flights, according to data published by the National Airports Office (ONDA).
Thus, Mohammed V airport welcomed 2,756,685 passengers at the end of June last, through 27,258 flights, with a recovery rate of 59% compared to the same period in 2019. It is followed by Marrakech Menara airport which recorded 1,764,080 passengers with a recovery rate of 56%.
As for Agadir Al Massira airport, it was able to welcome 613,917 passengers, i.e. a recovery rate of 63%. The recovery rates recorded by the airports of Tetouan, Guelmim and Oujda are respectively 444%, 126% and 104%, due to the resumption of international traffic and the launch of the Marhaba 2022 operation.
Regarding air freight, it recorded a recovery rate of 75%, according to ONDA, which points out that with the exception of South America, all geographical areas have recorded much higher recovery rates than in 2019.
