Moroccan Fisherman Dies in Tragic Net Accident off Spanish Coast
A Moroccan fisherman from the port of Mazarrón (Murcia) died on Tuesday while fishing in Altea (Alicante). He accidentally put his foot in a net and was dragged to the bottom of the water.

The incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. Realizing what had happened, the crew members of the "Alonso y María" vessel began to pull the net out of the water to rescue the victim. A rescue that lasted about 20 minutes, reports ORM.
The fishermen then tried to resuscitate the 45-year-old Moroccan victim. Without success. The president of the Mazarrón Fishermen’s Association, Manuel Sánchez, expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family.
