A Moroccan influencer apologizes, blames AI… then police await her at the airport
A few hours after claiming that compromising images had been fabricated using artificial intelligence, a Moroccan influencer was arrested at Mohammed V Airport as she was preparing to leave the country.
The arrest took place on Wednesday, August 12, at Casablanca airport. The police, coordinating with their colleagues in Marrakech, arrested the influencer as she was due to board a flight abroad.

The woman was identified as Soukaina Janah, known on social media as “Soukaina Glamour.” Her arrest came after footage deemed offensive to public decency was circulated on social media.
The case had been detected by the police’s digital monitoring services, which had spotted the videos circulating on social media. The public prosecutor then ordered a judicial investigation to identify their origin and the circumstances of their publication.

But even before her arrest, Soukaina Glamour had publicly presented a completely different version of the case. In an apology video addressed to Moroccans, she challenged the authenticity of the footage circulating about her.
According to her, the most compromising passages had been manipulated and dubbed using artificial intelligence techniques. She had even announced her intention to take legal action against the people she accused of fabricating and disseminating this misleading content.
A few hours later, the police investigation caught up with her at Casablanca airport. Her arrest as she was preparing to leave Morocco does not, however, make it possible to claim that she was seeking to flee the investigation: no official information currently available establishes a link between her trip and the ongoing investigations.
The influencer was subjected to the procedures of the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The investigation will notably have to determine the circumstances in which the videos were produced and circulated.

Her defense based on artificial intelligence now places this question at the heart of the case: are the images that were circulated authentic, or were they, as she claims, manipulated? That is precisely what the investigation will have to establish.
