Moroccan Man Faces Judge After Killing Wife in Cáceres Domestic Violence Case
The Moroccan who on Tuesday killed his also Moroccan-born wife, Imane Saadaoui, in Cáceres (Valencia), was presented to the judge on Thursday.
The 41-year-old man, who had a history of domestic violence against his 30-year-old wife, killed her on Tuesday, then contacted the Civil Guard to confess his crime, recalls RTVC. The couple had a 14-month-old baby who was taken care of by the Extremadura Council, pending being received by a member of the victim’s or the murderer’s family, according to sources from the Ministry of Health and Social Policies.
The victim also leaves behind another minor from a previous relationship. He would reside in Morocco with the deceased’s parents, therefore her grandparents. This murder brings to 36 the number of women killed by their partners or ex-partners this year in Spain and to 1,166 the total number of victims of domestic violence since 2003 when these data began to be collected.
