Moroccan Refugee on Trial for Killing German Social Worker Who Aided Him
The trial of a Moroccan refugee, prosecuted for voluntary manslaughter against a 61-year-old volunteer social worker during the summer of 2019, began this week at the Criminal Court of Hanover.

In her lifetime, the victim, known as Patricia, worked as a volunteer social worker for asylum seekers.
Devoted to the cause of refugees, the victim had, according to the local press, taught the Moroccan national the German language as well as the behavior to adopt towards the authorities.
Arrived in Germany in 2015, the 33-year-old aggressor, who had benefited from the victim’s support in his asylum application, had suffocated her with adhesive tape and hidden her body in his room, before seizing the jewelry and money.
