Morocco Braces for Strong Wind Gusts Up to 90 km/h in Multiple Provinces
The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) announced strong wind gusts in several Moroccan provinces on Monday and Tuesday, September 13.
Strong wind gusts (75/90 km/h) will hit on Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. the provinces of Al Hoceima, Benslimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Chefchaouen, Chichaoua, Driouch, El Hajeb, Fès, Fquih Ben Salah, Khemisset, Khouribga, Médiouna, Meknès, Mohammedia and Moulay Yacoub, the DGM said in a special orange alert bulletin.
The same phenomenon will occur in the provinces of Nouaceur, Ouezzane, Rabat, Rehamna, Salé, Sefrou, Settat, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Skhirate-Témara, Taounate, Taza and Youssoufia. These wind gusts will be accompanied by sand sweeps in places, the same source added.
On Tuesday, fairly strong wind gusts (50 to 70 km/h) will sweep the northwest, southeast and south of the Oriental region, the DGM said.
