Morocco's Coronavirus Cases Rise to 58, Rabat Region Emerges as Epicenter
The Ministry of Health announced on Thursday, March 19, 4 new positive cases, bringing the total to 58 people infected with the coronavirus in Morocco.
According to the same source, these new cases were recorded in Casa-Settat (2), in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (1) and in the Tangier region (1). This evolution of the coronavirus confirms the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region as the epicenter of the epidemic in Morocco with 15 cases. It is followed by Casablanca-Settat (13 cases) and Fès-Meknès with 12 cases. The Marrakech-Safi region recorded 5 cases against 4 for Souss-Massa.
Furthermore, two people have died since the start of the epidemic, including an octogenarian woman who returned from Italy and a 75-year-old man.
Only one case of recovery has been recorded so far. It is a 39-year-old young man, (the first case in Morocco) who returned from the city of Bergamo in Italy.
