Morocco's Customs Revenue Surges 21% in 2021, Reaching 5.39 Billion Dirhams
At the end of 2021, revenue from additional duties and taxes reached more than 5.39 billion dirhams in 2021, up 21% compared to 2020, according to the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII).
Customs noted in its activity report that revenue from adjustments following value control is the main source of these revenues, accounting for 75%.
As for the revenue generated following ex-post control (CAP), it reached 837 million dirhams, representing 15.51% of additional revenue, recording an increase of 190% compared to 2020.
Immediate control outside value control generated an amount of 415 million dirhams, or 7.71% of additional revenue, an increase of 184% compared to 2020. In addition, revenue related to passenger control continued its downward trend for the second consecutive year, settling at 49 million dirhams, down 21% compared to 2020 and 64% compared to 2019.
