Morocco Denies Bed Bug Outbreak, Implements Preventive Measures
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection confirmed on Wednesday the absence of an exceptional spread of bed bugs in Morocco. In a statement, the health authorities claim to have implemented preventive measures in collaboration with various stakeholders.
The ministry says it has strengthened health surveillance at borders, ensured monitoring in high-risk areas and also published recommendations for travelers on its official website.
Faced with concerns, the ministry urges Moroccans to remain vigilant and avoid succumbing to rumors and overestimating risks. A surveillance system for the early detection of any unusual incidents is active. The ministry notably advises against buying used mattresses, furniture or clothing from regions with a strong presence of these insects.
Communication remains a priority for the Ministry of Health, which is committed to keeping the public informed of any developments related to this situation.
