Morocco's King Pardons 672 Prisoners for Islamic Holiday Aïd Al Mawlid
King Mohammed VI has pardoned 672 people on the occasion of Aïd Al Mawlid Annabawi, celebrated this Sunday, October 9 in Morocco. These detainees had been sentenced by various courts in the Kingdom.
The beneficiaries of the Royal pardon who are in detention number 508 detainees, distributed as follows:
• Pardon on the remainder of the prison or criminal sentence for 10 detainees.
• Remission of the prison or criminal sentence for 488 detainees.
• Commutation of the life sentence to a fixed-term sentence for 10 detainees.
The beneficiaries of the Royal pardon who are at liberty number 155 people, distributed as follows:
• Pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder for 61 people.
• Pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine for 15 people.
• Pardon on the fine sentence for 72 people.
• Pardon on the prison and fine sentence for 7 people.
