Morocco Leads Africa in COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout, CDC Reports
Morocco is the first African country to have acquired and administered the most doses of Covid-19 vaccines to its population, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) of the African Union.
Morocco is at the top of the countries that have acquired and administered the most doses of Covid-19 vaccines to their populations. Egypt, South Africa and Tunisia follow, the Africa CDC specifies.
In total, African countries have already acquired 357.9 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine and have administered about 204.3 million to date, or about 57% of the total supply, the Institute notes.
As of November 12, 2021, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Africa has reached 8,549,672, with 220,378 deaths and 7,966,552 recoveries, it indicates.
