Morocco's Offshore Gas Discovery Set for Production in Late 2024, ONHYM Says
The production of natural gas discovered off the coast of Larache will start around late 2024, according to the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM). Located in the Lixus permit, the Anchois 2 well presents, it is said, "encouraging results".

After evaluation and certification of the gas resources, "the start of production is planned for late 2024," revealed Amina Benkhadra, Director General of ONHYM, to SNRTnews, stressing that in the meantime, "many works will be carried out according to a precise schedule".
This natural gas could be used, according to Benkhadra, for electricity production through the supply of the power plants of Kénitra, Mohammedia, or Tahaddart and to various industrialists in the Kénitra area.
