Morocco Reports Record 2,488 New COVID-19 Cases in 24 Hours
Two thousand four hundred and eighty-eight (2,488) new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection and 1,962 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.
The new balance of confirmed cases brings the number of infections in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 to 94,504 and the number of fully recovered people to 74,930, a recovery rate of 79.3%, the ministry said in its daily Covid-19 bulletin.
The number of deaths has risen to 1,714, with 28 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours, a fatality rate of 1.8%, according to the same source.
These deaths are distributed among the regions of Marrakech-Safi (8), Casablanca-Settat (7), Darâa-Tafilalet (4), Béni Mallal-Khénifra (3), Fès-Meknès (2), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (1), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (1), the Oriental (1), and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).
The new cases, on the other hand, are distributed among the regions of Casablanca-Settat (932), Souss-Massa (354), Marrakech-Safi (311), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (289), Drâa-Tafilalet (204), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (117), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (116), Fès-Meknès (72), the Oriental (57), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (14), Guelmim-Oued Noun (14) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (8).
The number of excluded cases is 2,224,010, after 20,215 new negative analyses.
Active cases have reached 17,860, with a prevalence of 49.2/100,000 inhabitants. As for severe or critical cases, there are 260, of which 44 are intubated.
The cumulative incidence rate is 260.2/100,000 inhabitants, compared to a 24-hour incidence of 6.9/100,000 inhabitants.
