Morocco Search: British Girl Missing at Sea as Family Faces Heartbreaking Decision
The family of a seven-year-old British girl, who has been missing at sea in Morocco since January 28, has admitted that they may soon have to call off the search after 25 days of unsuccessful efforts to locate the child in Casablanca.
Inaayah Makda, from Blackburn, was swept away by a powerful wave while she was on rocks with her parents. Although the couple managed to get out of the water, the girl was immediately carried away by the Atlantic currents in the accident, which occurred during their holiday.

Significant resources have been deployed, bringing together Moroccan navy divers, naval patrols and private search teams funded by a fundraising campaign that has raised more than 61,000 pounds sterling. Despite the use of drones and the mobilization of local volunteers to distribute flyers, the schoolgirl remains missing.
In a joint statement, the parents, Zubair and Tasneem Makda, expressed their gratitude to the local authorities while referring to the imminence of a “heartbreaking decision.” They acknowledged that a time may come when they will have to end the search in order to “place their full trust in Allah’s decree.”

The British Foreign Office confirmed that it remains in close contact with the Moroccan authorities to support the family through this ordeal. In Blackburn, MP Adnan Hussain described the situation as absolutely “devastating,” saying he was approaching London to obtain clear answers.
