Nayef Aguerd Transfer News: Marseille Opens Exit Door

Nayef Aguerd’s status has changed at Marseille. While the Phocaean club seemed keen to build with the Moroccan international, the club’s management would now be willing to consider offers that could arrive during the summer transfer window.

According to La Provence, OM has opened discussions about the future of its defender after a season deemed below expectations. A groin injury notably prevented him from playing consecutive matches and also disrupted his preparation with Morocco.

Several Gulf clubs are already following his file. They could take advantage of this opening to try to attract an experienced player who has previously played for Dijon, Rennes, West Ham and Real Sociedad.

Marseille Opens the Door to Aguerd’s Departure

Stade Rennais also appears among possible destinations. The Breton club, where Aguerd played between 2020 and 2022, could consider his return after encountering difficulties in its search to strengthen its defense.

For now, however, no evidence confirms the existence of advanced negotiations between Rennes, Marseille and the Moroccan player.

Nayef Aguerd remains under contract with OM until June 2030. A clause allowing his departure for approximately 15 million euros could nevertheless facilitate a deal this summer, provided a club agrees to match this amount.
