Two and a half years after opening a tiny 18-seat café in Philadelphia, Moroccan Soufiane Boutliliss is moving to a completely different scale. His new restaurant can accommodate around 120 customers, with cuisine that remains deeply connected to Morocco.
Announced as the first African route in American Airlines’ history, the direct service between Philadelphia and Casablanca ultimately never carried a single passenger. Six years after its cancellation, the US carrier still has no plans to revive the project.
The airline American Airlines has not given up on the direct Philadelphia-Casablanca route, the launch of which was postponed indefinitely in 2020, notably due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"American Airlines" intends to launch five new intercontinental routes next summer. Among them, Philadelphia-Casablanca, a first for the airline that has not been interested in Africa until now.
