Prince Moulay Rachid arrives with 29 guests at an American restaurant that was unaware of his identity
Prince Moulay Rachid and 29 companions dined at a restaurant in Pelham, near New York, whose staff initially did not know the identity of its main guest. The prince arrived in a convoy of black SUVs, after a reservation made only two hours earlier.
The scene took place on Wednesday, September 2, at Sergio’s Ristorante, an Italian establishment in Pelham, New York State. At around 5 p.m., a member of Moulay Rachid’s team came to reserve a table for 30 people that same evening.
The man ordered the meal in advance and requested a precise table arrangement, without revealing the identity of the principal guest. At around 7 p.m., local residents saw a convoy of black SUVs drive down Fifth Avenue and stop in front of the restaurant.

Accompanied by his security detail, Moulay Rachid discreetly got out of one of the vehicles before joining his guests. The staff only learned that they were serving King Mohammed VI’s brother after the group had been seated and the appetizers served, reports Pelham Examiner.
Four tables for the prince, his guests and his security
Moulay Rachid and some of his entourage sat around a table for twelve people. Seven members of his security detail occupied a neighboring table, while a third had been reserved for the group’s children and a fourth for eight other companions.
The convoy’s arrival did not go unnoticed in this small town located north of New York. The restaurant’s owner, Alban Gashi, said he received several calls from residents trying to find out which personality was at his establishment.
Asked about the tip left by his guest, the restaurateur did not reveal the amount, but assured that the prince had been “very generous.” The establishment had already hosted several American celebrities, including former basketball star Charles Barkley, but never a member of a royal family.

The younger brother of Mohammed VI, Moulay Rachid regularly represents the Moroccan sovereign at major international events. In particular, he had traveled to London for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. The American media outlet does not specify the reason for his presence in the United States or the length of his stay.
