Rapper Maître Gims Reveals Past Involvement with Controversial Islamic Group
Converted to Islam, rapper Maître Gims has confided in a Netflix documentary dedicated to the performer of "Zombie" about his past membership in an "Islamist sect".

The singer says he was a member of the "Tablighi Jamaat", an "Islamist sect" when he was still a member of the group Sexion d’Assaut. "When I entered this religion, I was within reach of any guru. I was a pure heart and someone with bad intentions could take you under their wing and make you a weapon," he recounts.
The rapper makes disturbing revelations about the members of this sect: "There were people who ended up dead, suicided in Iraq. People who were next to me. And that scared me, I don’t know where I could have ended up."
