Muslim Leaders Appeal to Macron Over Closure of Prestigious Islamic School
In a letter addressed to the French president, the Council of Mosques of the Rhône (CMR), led by the rector of the Grand Mosque of Lyon Kamel Kabtane, denounces the "arbitrary" decision taken by the prefecture of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region to terminate the association contracts with the Al-Kindi school group, and calls on Emmanuel Macron to use his authority and responsibility "as guarantor of institutions to re-examine this situation."
