Spanish Court Sentences Moroccan Drug Traffickers to 18 Years, €18 Million Fine
The Court of First Instance in Huelva, southern Spain, has sentenced 3 Moroccans to 18 years in prison and a fine of 18 million euros. The defendants were prosecuted for drug trafficking.

Arrested last February in possession of 1.4 tons of cannabis resin, the 3 traffickers were trying to reach the Huelva coast by boat, according to the local press.
Prosecuted for drug trafficking and threat to public health, the defendants will each serve a 6-year prison sentence, accompanied by fines of 9.8 and 7.9 million euros.
In total, 47 bales of cannabis resin were seized by the Spanish customs. The boat was intercepted 40 kilometers off the coast of Huelva, in southwestern Spain.
