A video published on TikTok by a Spanish real estate agent has sparked controversy by comparing real estate prices between Spain and Morocco. The sequence, which has garnered over half a million views, shows considerable price gaps between the two countries.
The comparison, presented by the agent, revolves around several budget levels. For 50,000 euros, the video indicates that one can acquire an 80 m² apartment with a balcony in Tétouan, Morocco, while this amount in Spain would only allow the purchase of a storage room in Barcelona or a double parking space in Madrid.
With a budget of 100,000 euros, the real estate agent shows that it is possible to buy a duplex near the sea in Agadir. In contrast, in the Barcelona region, the same amount would correspond to a 28 m² apartment located in the suburbs of L’Hospitalet.
The gap widens further at 150,000 euros. This budget would allow the ownership of a 140 m² villa with a garden in Rabat, while in Spain, it would provide access to an apartment in Badalona, not equipped with an elevator. For 200,000 euros, the video compares a penthouse with a sea view in Casablanca to a 60 m² apartment requiring significant renovations in the El Raval neighborhood of Barcelona.
