Moroccan international Medhi Carcela made a triumphant return. The supporters of Standard de Liège could not help but express their joy at seeing him return after several weeks of absence.
Mehdi Carcela started with a bang with a starting spot for the first time this season in the league. It was on Sunday against Courtrai in a match that ended in a victory for Standard de Liège (2-1). When asked about the reasons for his absence, the player explained that he had struggled with Covid-19 and confinement. "My football was not the cause. It took me more time psychologically. The coach and the management knew that I was not well. It’s been a month now that I’m doing better. I’m enjoying it again and I’m smiling again," explains the Moroccan player.
