Thrown off his motorcycle and then beaten: a Moroccan man attacked by six men in Italy
A 27-year-old Moroccan man was violently attacked in northern Italy. Hit while arriving on a motorcycle, he was then beaten by at least five or six compatriots before being left unconscious on the ground.
The ambush took place on Tuesday evening in Osnago, a municipality in the province of Lecco, in Lombardy. The victim, a 27-year-old Moroccan man, had arranged to meet near a public park when he arrived at the scene on a motorcycle.
His attackers, meanwhile, are believed to have travelled by car. According to initial information reported by Il Giorno, they allegedly hit the young man’s motorcycle to make him fall, before attacking him relentlessly.

There were at least five of them, perhaps six, and they are also believed to be Moroccan. Once their victim was on the ground, they kicked and punched him.
Some witnesses also claim to have seen a machete during the attack. However, investigators have not confirmed the presence of this weapon at this stage.
Left unconscious after the attack
The beating was particularly violent. The Moroccan man suffered, in particular, a fractured leg and facial injuries. His attackers then fled, leaving him unconscious at the scene.
Emergency services were alerted, and the young man was treated by medical teams before being taken urgently to Alessandro Manzoni Hospital in Lecco.
Despite the severity of his injuries, his life is not in danger.
The Brivio carabinieri have opened an investigation to identify the group members. According to the initial information collected, some may have come from the neighbouring province of Bergamo.
Investigators are also seeking to determine the precise motive for the attack. The main hypothesis put forward at this stage is that it was a settling of scores linked to drug trafficking.
Settling-of-scores attacks targeting Moroccans have already led to shootings in Italy. In that previous case, a young Moroccan man was notably shot in the leg before three suspects were eventually arrested.
