The Moroccan Federation for Consumer Rights is challenging this increase. In a statement, it calls on insurers to explain precisely the economic and legal grounds for this rise.

The organization is particularly questioning a possible link with the reform of compensation for victims of road accidents. Bill 24.70 is set to modify the current system and improve certain compensation payments.

Consumers refuse to pay ahead of time

For the Federation, the issue is simple: the reform’s actual financial effects are not yet known. It therefore refuses to have drivers bear the cost now of risks or future expenses that remain hypothetical.

The sector, for its part, argues that premiums changed little for many years, while the cost of repairs and compensation increased sharply.
