The dirham continues to lose ground against the euro. In three weeks, the equivalent value of 1,000 euros has increased by 131 dirhams, according to Bank Al-Maghrib’s reference exchange rates.
A new scheme is expected to enable 4,000 beneficiaries of transfers sent by MREs to access credit more easily. Their history of receiving money will be incorporated into an assessment method developed by Damane Cash and Salafin.
The Moroccan dirham has once again lost ground against the euro. In one week, 1,000 euros are worth approximately 75 more dirhams based on Bank Al-Maghrib’s reference exchange rates.

The dirham lost ground against the euro and the dollar between August 27 and September 2. For MRE exchanging euros, the movement is slightly favorable: based on reference rates, 1,000 euros are worth approximately 39 more dirhams.
Agadir’s real estate market has almost entirely erased the drop in house prices recorded at the beginning of the year. After falling by 12%, prices rebounded by 11.1% in the second quarter, while sales surged by 48.4%.
Buyers have returned to Tangier in force. In the second quarter of 2026, house sales surged by 60.3% and land sales by 54.9%. Land prices simultaneously rose by 7.3%, propelling the city to the top for price increases.

After the collapse at the beginning of the year, buyers are returning to Marrakech. Real estate transactions rose by 18.3% in the second quarter of 2026, while prices increased by 0.5%. The rebound was driven in particular by houses and land.
Civil servants are the most indebted category of borrowers in Morocco. On average, 44% of their income goes toward repaying loans, compared with 34% among private-sector employees. However, this figure concerns people who took out or renewed a loan in 2025.
Bank Al-Maghrib handled 3,591 complaints from customers of credit institutions in 2025, compared with 2,298 a year earlier. This 56% increase was accompanied by a sharp decline in decisions favorable to complainants, which fell from 74% to 51%.
