Marrakech Surveillance System Expands to 888 Cameras
Marrakech is significantly strengthening its video surveillance system. The city already has 738 cameras distributed across its various neighborhoods and plans to install 150 additional ones to improve security and prepare for upcoming international events.
The network is controlled from three monitoring and surveillance centers. It is designed to strengthen prevention, detect incidents more quickly, and accelerate response from competent services.

The municipality is also pursuing the expansion of the fiber optic network necessary for the operation of these equipment. In the medina, particularly frequented by residents and tourists, 120 cameras have already been installed.
150 New Eyes on the City
The 150 new cameras planned will bring the total fleet to 888 devices. This reinforcement is part of the preparations for major sporting and international events that Marrakech is to host.
Video surveillance is just one component of the modernization program announced by the municipality. The city claims to have completed or renovated 85 intersections on several major roads, particularly at Souk Er-Rabie, Al Houria, Aïn Mezouar, and Bab Doukkala, to improve traffic flow and strengthen road safety.
