Moroccan Dirham Gains Against Euro - Currency Update
The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.2% against the euro and depreciated by 0.1% against the US dollar during the period from June 1 to 3, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no auction operations were carried out on the foreign exchange market, indicates the Moroccan central bank in its recent weekly indicators bulletin.

Official foreign exchange reserves stood at 491.4 billion dirhams (MMDH) on May 29, up 5.1% compared to the previous week, following the collection of a 2.25 billion euro bond loan issued by the Treasury on the international financial market on May 19, 2026. On an annual basis, the increase stands at 22.3%.
On the stock exchange side, the MASI declined by 1.7% during the period from June 1 to 3, bringing its underperformance since the beginning of the year to 1.5%.
This trend affected most sectors, notably with declines of 1.7% for the "Banks" index, 2.5% for "Building and construction materials", 1.7% for "Mining" and 4.5% for "Real estate participation and promotion".

As for the weekly trading volume, it fell from one week to the next, from 1.2 MMDH to 932.7 million dirhams, realized mainly on the central equities market.
