Moroccan dirham weakens euro exchange rate June 2026
The dirham slightly declined against the euro, but strengthened against the dollar, according to the latest weekly indicators from Bank Al-Maghrib.
Between June 11 and 16, 2026, the Moroccan currency depreciated by 0.3% against the euro. The reference rate of the European currency rose from 10.701 dirhams to 10.724 dirhams over the period, after reaching 10.738 dirhams on June 15.

Against the dollar, the dirham performed better. It appreciated by 0.1%, with the greenback falling from 9.268 dirhams to 9.245 dirhams. No auction operations were conducted on the foreign exchange market during this period.
This relative stability is supported by a high level of official foreign exchange reserves. As of June 12, they stood at 490.8 billion dirhams, stable over one week, but up 22.5% year-on-year. In May, these reserves represented the equivalent of six months of imports of goods and services.

The external context remains under pressure, however. Over the first four months of 2026, Morocco’s trade deficit widened by 18.4%, to 127 billion dirhams. But travel receipts, up 21.2%, and remittances from Moroccan expatriates, up 9.8%, continue to support foreign currency inflows.
