Morocco is no longer responding only to French customers: Dutch clients are now arriving too
From Rabat to Tangier, recruitment for Dutch-speaking customer advisers is on the rise. Telecoms, e-commerce, payments and logistics: job listings show that Moroccan customer service centers are diversifying beyond their historic French market.

A new job listing published on September 25 is seeking advisers in Rabat who can work in Dutch for a major international telecommunications project. The full-time position, offered under a permanent contract, involves assisting customers by phone and email, providing technical support, handling complaints and even selling additional services. A B2/C1 level of Dutch is required, according to the Kats Recruitment listing.
This trend goes far beyond this recruitment drive. NewCo Communications, which operates in Tangier and Casablanca, says it is looking each month for Dutch-speaking employees for its various international projects. The company currently has openings in telecommunications, alarm systems, payment terminals and technical services. One of its listings in Tangier explicitly concerns support for a Belgian client, while another seeks Dutch speakers to remotely assist professionals using payment solutions.

In Rabat, the German group Avedo is also looking for Dutch speakers, this time to assist customers of an e-commerce company from Morocco. Advisers must handle orders, returns, product questions and requests received by phone, email or chat. The arrangement is entirely remote from Morocco and operates under self-employed status, with pay calculated according to the cases handled.
From French to Dutch
These recruitment drives reflect a shift in Morocco’s customer service sector. Historically heavily dependent on the French market, platforms based in the kingdom are now seeking candidates able to work directly with other European markets. This diversification comes as the traditional model of Moroccan call centers is being upended by artificial intelligence and by tougher rules on telemarketing in France.
Dutch speakers are now being sought even in IT support. In Sala Al Jadida, Econocom is currently recruiting a Dutch-speaking service desk technician to resolve users’ IT problems remotely. In Rabat, another recruitment campaign launched in September is for ten Dutch-French bilingual adviser positions handling customer calls, requests and complaints.
The salaries on offer also show the value placed on these language skills. A listing currently posted on Indeed for Dutch-language work in Rabat advertises a fixed net salary of 10,512 dirhams per month, with the possibility of an additional monthly bonus of 1,693 dirhams. The recruitment is for customer and technical support work associated in the listing with FedEx and Orange, with positions available remotely or at the company’s Rabat offices. The listing states that no prior experience is required as long as candidates have a sufficient command of Dutch.

Telecommunications, tourism, e-commerce, logistics, IT support and payment solutions: the available listings show that Dutch is no longer a niche limited to a handful of call centers. Rabat, Casablanca and Tangier are now bases for several companies handling requests directly from Dutch-speaking customers in Europe, opening up a new market for a Moroccan sector long focused almost exclusively on French-speaking customers.
