Morocco Reports 97 New COVID-19 Cases, Casablanca-Settat Region Hardest Hit
The number of confirmed cases of covid-19 is 5,000 in Morocco, after the census of 97 new people tested positive. With this new assessment, the Casablanca-Settat region, the most affected in the kingdom, recorded 41 cases in 24 hours this Monday, May 4.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health, Morocco now has 177 deaths (i.e. a mortality rate of 3.54%), 1,565 recoveries (31.3%), 39,076 excluded after negative laboratory tests and 3,258 cases under treatment.
With these 41 new cases in 24 hours, the Casablanca-Settat region now has a record of 1,306 cases. It is followed by the Marrakech-Safi region, which recorded 5 new cases and has 1,075 people affected by covid-19.
The Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region is in 3rd place with 710 cases. And the contamination rate continues to rise, with 6 cases in 24 hours. It precedes the Fez-Meknes region, which now has 642 cases, or 23 more.
Furthermore, the regions of Drâa-Tafilalet (548), the 5th most affected region, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (342), the Oriental, Beni Mellal-Khénifra (84), Souss-Massa (51), Guelmim-Oued Noun (39), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (4) and Dakhla Oued Deheb (2) did not record any new cases in 24 hours.
