Ryanair ends the Clermont-Ferrand - Fès route
The low-cost airline Ryanair has announced the cessation of all its activities at the Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne airport as of March 27, 2026. This decision, motivated by the tightening of taxation on air transport in France, results in the cancellation of several routes, including one to Morocco.
The management of Clermont-Ferrand airport has confirmed the definitive withdrawal of the Irish company at the end of the 2026 winter season. Ryanair justifies this disengagement by a revision of its strategy on the French market, in direct reaction to the increase in airport and environmental taxes implemented since 2025. This measure impacts three regular routes: Porto in Portugal, Fès in Morocco and London in the United Kingdom.
The airport teams indicate that they are already in an active prospecting phase to attract new operators capable of taking over the vacant slots. The stated objective is to re-establish the connections to Portugal, Morocco and England with other partners in order to preserve the territorial attractiveness and mobility of Auvergne travelers.
