She Spends One Night in a Riad in Marrakech and Returns to France with Nearly 150 Bites
Ten friends had booked an entire riad in Marrakech to enjoy their holiday in Morocco. On the very first night, one of the travelers woke up covered in bites. Inspecting her bed, the group discovered what they identified as bedbugs.
The stay had nevertheless started normally. The group had settled into a riad in Marrakech’s medina, with several rooms spread throughout the property. But upon waking, one of the vacationers had numerous marks on her body.

Her friend then decided to examine the bedding. According to her account published on Booking.com, insects were discovered in the bed. The group took photos and videos before notifying the accommodation.
The establishment’s response did not convince the vacationers. They were reportedly told, in particular, that such a problem had never been reported before.

Back in Paris, the traveler concerned consulted a dermatologist. According to her friend’s account, the doctor attributed her lesions to bedbugs and counted approximately 150 bites. She was then prescribed treatment.

Of the ten people staying in the riad, she was reportedly the only one to have so many marks. In her friend’s view, the problem lay as much in the night spent in that room as in the way the incident was subsequently handled.
