National Migrant Day was meant to honor Moroccans around the world. In Mohammedia, it turned into a public grievance session in front of Hicham Aït Menna, president of the communal council, who was directly confronted with residents’ complaints.
Several citizens took advantage of the presence of the provincial governor and Aït Menna to denounce the proliferation of stray dogs in different neighborhoods of the city.

They particularly raised the risks to children and elderly people. Faced with the discontent, the governor reportedly tried to reassure residents by promising the mobilization of the authorities and the services concerned.

The scene is embarrassing for Aït Menna: while he was attending a ceremony dedicated to MREs, Mohammedia’s day-to-day concerns suddenly took center stage again.
